St John’s Foundation visits METS

Trustees of St John’s Foundation visited the METS training facilities on 29th January 2019 to meet with beneficiaries.

As the main funders of the programme they could see for themselves the impact of this unique skills-based learning environment. Sarah Davis, who also chairs DHI, was particularly interested to meet one of the young people who was referred to us by DHI. This demonstrates how St John’s funding triggers collaborative working for peoples benefit.

In this picture there are three job seekers all of whom are now in employment. The two Y10 students from Norton Hill School are with METS in its second year.

Dom Chambers commented, “The support of St John’s is crucial in enabling us to do our work and have an impact. It was a pleasure welcoming the visitors to our training facilities and introducing them to some of those benefiting and hearing their stories.”

Trainees on the METS programme are joined by Mike Gorman, Chair of the Somer Valley Education Trust and our CEO Dom Chambers, St John’s Foundation CEO David Hobdey, and trustees Sarah Davis and David Purdon.
